What’s on your mind?

Well: “If you’re going to be thinking anything, you might as well think big” – Donald Trump.  If you have not been to downtown Detroit in the last 24 hours, you are probably missing out.  I am thankful to be a student at Wayne State University for the fantastic opportunities that have come my way. From an academic, cultural, and athletic perspective, Detroit has truly fostered my go big or go home mentality.

This year I was fortunate to close out my collegiate swimming career as a GLIAC champion. It was awesome to celebrate our team’s hard work together. The photo below was taken at the Conference Championships in February and features all our senior Swimmers and Divers.

Outside of the pool, I am experiencing the resurgence of Detroit; acting as a cultural and entrepreneurial hub, I am just scratching the surface of what the city has to offer.  I cannot wait to continue exploring. Just two weeks ago, I participated in the LiveWorkDetroit international experience. This photo was taken at the Guardian building on Griswold.

Through my college experiences, I am learning what motivates our great leaders. I’ve found that the key to success is always making progress, and develop consistency in whatever I am doing. I have been fortunate with recent academic successes. This photo features me with Dean Margaret Williams receiving the Athletic Department’s School of Business Deans award at an academic lunch last spring.

The city has also given me the opportunity to give back and be apart of some game-changing programs. The Grand River Creative Corridor (GRCC) is great cause aimed at revitalizing a section of Grand River Ave. I took this photos at a recent clean up event:

The cityscape has also shaped my enthusiasm for photography. Below are a few photos I have taken in recent months.

Whether you are living, working or playing, the “D” has it all! So what are you waiting for?
